Each time the Server Refresh button is pressed, it refreshes the Jobs list with the most recent Job data from the database and—according to the Server Location Refresh setting—the most recent status data from each server. As discussed above, if no new server data is retrieved (for example, with a setting of Local), the system displays the data saved from the most recent server interaction.

The Server Location Refresh provides a flexible approach to refreshing Job status data, allowing selection of the best approach at the time it is being used.

Therefore, a good rule of thumb is as follows:

  1. Refresh Remote when first starting the system.
  2. Change the setting back to None or Local.
  3. Change it back to Remote only when necessary—for example, when viewing the status of remote scheduled Jobs or invoking Start or Stop and obtaining the most recent data is necessary.
