The Split With Gap command allows the Revit user to cut a section out of an MEP run, leaving two unconnected segments with a gap. This command maintains size, insulation and lining where applicable.  This command can be used in 3D views.

In Revit:

  • In the ribbon, navigate to the BIMrx tab >> BIMrx MEP panel >> Split With Gap command:

  • Select a first location on the MEP run to split from.
  • Select a second location on the same MEP run to split to.

The result is two segments with a gap as shown in the example:
