The creation of Rule Based Filters is built into Revit.  We outline the process here only for completeness. 


There are a couple of methods for adding Revit Rule Based Filters. One directly through the BIMrx Select By Rule Based Filter dialog, or through the Revit ribbon.


In Select By Rule Based Filter dialog:

  • Click the Add new Filter shortcut button

In Revit: 

  • Navigate to the View tab >> Graphics panel >> Filter command:


  • This opens up the following Filters dialog box:


  • Create a named “Rule Based Filter. 
  • Choose the desired element categories.
  • Add any extra filter rules.
  • Click the OK button:
